Leadership Round Rock and Ascend Programs
Dedicated To Preparing Future Business Leaders
ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Round Rock Chamber today announced that they are now accepting applications for the 2015 – 2016 leadership programs, which includes Leadership Round Rock and Ascend.
“Our leadership programs are unique in that they provide participants the opportunity to discuss key issues,” said Shontel Mays, the chamber’s vice president of events and investor engagement. “Throughout the nine-month program, participants learn a tremendous amount about how decisions are made in our community and how their leadership will impact our area for years to come.”
The mission of Leadership Round Rock is to develop leadership skills in individuals and to promote awareness of issues and opportunities which impact Round Rock. Leadership Round Rock graduates have gone on to serve in many significant roles for the community. For instance, five of the current city council members and six of the current planning and zoning commission members are all Leadership graduates.
After completing the Leadership Round Rock program, participants are encouraged to begin the Ascend program. The mission of Ascend is to develop young emerging leaders so that they realize tangible, measurable progress in their professional, business, and/or community leadership roles in the Round Rock area by the end of the three-year program. Ascend is intended to develop a pipeline of sustainable future leadership for the community.
Please visit the chamber’s website online to complete an application for Leadership Round Rock or Ascend. If you have additional questions, please contact Shontel Mays.
